| Dr. Yanqi Wu serves on the faculty of Plant and Soil Sciences Department, Oklahoma State University as an assistant professor in Grass Breeding and Genetics. His research interest is focused on the development of new cultivars and genetic investigation in bermudagrass used for turf and forage, and switchgrass for bioenergy using conventional and molecular technologies. Yanqi grew up in Ningxia, China. He obtained a B.S. degree in Animal Science in 1985 from Ningxia Agricultural College (now the Agricultural College of Ningxia University), M.S. degree in Grassland Science in 1988 from Sichuan Agricultural University, and then spent 12 years as a faculty member of Sichuan Agricultural University in China. He received a Ph.D. in Crop Science with emphasis on Plant Breeding and Genetics in 2004 at Oklahoma State University, and then conducted two-year postdoctoral research at USDA-ARS Plant Science Research Lab before joining OSU. | |
