Kefyalew Girma Desta is an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Agricultural Systems in the Plant and Sciences department at Oklahoma State University. Kefyalew is a native of Ethiopia and worked as a researcher for Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research from 1994 to 2001.His research focus was cropping and tillage systems weed management, soil fertility and nutrient management and stress physiology. Currently his research and extension activities are geared towards developing and extending practices that contribute to sustainable Agriculture. Special interests include nutrient management in organic production, waste management, and alternative crops. Kefyalew was team member of the sensor based nitrogen management program at Oklahoma State University from 2001 to 2007. He received B.S. degree from Alemaya University in 1992, an M.S. degree from University of Guelph, Ont. Canada in 1998, and a Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in 2004. |

Research Interest
Soil fertility, nutrient management, precision agriculture, crop production, weed management and data mining and analysis with a goal to contribute to agro-ecosystem health and sustainable agriculture. Special interests include waste management, organic farming and special crops.
